Oy vey. What happened to the America we know? The one where things made sense, where women and men saved the day, and themselves, and the ranch? Every couple of weeks I spend a few hours with real people like Humphrey Bogart and Cary Grant and Maureen O'Hara and Harrison Ford and Katharine Hepburn and John Wayne. They speak to us and show us how to deal with situations we hope we never encounter. They make sense. (And by "they," I mean the writers and directors and producers as well, of course.) They tell stories that build you up, that make you think, that make you want to be better.
And then, last night, Sacha Baron Cohen won a Golden Globe award.
I need a Jimmy Stewart fix.
